Our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team is a multidisciplinary group of professionals who work together to offer evidence-based interventions and support at every stage of a young person’s mental health journey.
About the Role
As an Experienced CAMHS Practitioner, you will be a key member of our team, responsible for delivering assessment, treatment, and support to children and young people experiencing mental health difficulties. You’ll work collaboratively with families, schools, and other professionals to create tailored care plans that promote recovery and resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, including risk assessments, and develop evidence-based care plans.
- Deliver therapeutic interventions, such as CBT, DBT, family therapy, or other modalities.
- Support and empower children, young people, and their families in their mental health journey.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and schools.
- Provide consultation, advice, and support to other professionals working with children and young people.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with organisational policies.
- Contribute to service development initiatives and quality improvement projects.
About You
We are looking for a compassionate, motivated, and skilled professional with a strong commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people.
Essential Criteria:
- Professional qualification in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, or a related field.
- Registration with the relevant professional body (e.g., NMC, HCPC, or SWE).
- Significant experience working within a CAMHS or similar mental health setting.
- Proven ability to undertake assessments, including risk assessments, and deliver therapeutic interventions.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child development, and mental health conditions affecting children and young people.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
