Key performance indicators
- Adhere to the home specific policy and procedures
- Responsible for maintaining compliance in accordance with Bluestones Medical Nursing guidelines
- Responsible for reporting any patient safety concerns to Bluestones Medical Nursing Compliance & RGN Manager
- It is the Nurses’ responsibility to ensure that prior to commencing a clinical shift in a new environment the checklist provided is completed
- To report any clinical incident via the correct route according to clinical area in addition to reporting to Bluestones Medical Nursing Compliance & RGN Manager
Key responsibilities
Contributes and assists the in the smooth and efficient running of the specified department. A competent, experienced Health Care Assistant who is responsible for providing effective and safe care under supervision and guidance of a qualified practitioner
- Under the supervision of qualified members of staff, the post holder will assist in the planning and implementation of care of the patient group within the care home environment to which they are assigned to
- Take responsibility under the guidance of a Registered Nurse for the physical and emotional wellbeing and social needs of residents
- Providing physical and mental stimulation by taking part in recreational and social activities with residents, both individually and as a group
- Assist residents with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene, dressing and assisting with meals as required
- To update patient documentation as required legitimately and ensuring all detail is recorded
- To ensure a holistic approach is adopted when administering care
- Works in accordance with Bluestones Medical Nursing worker’s handbook and Terms and Conditions
- Is able to attend to the full hygiene requirements of a patient
- Has knowledge of all Health Care Professionals’ roles within the clinical environment
- Ensure safe practice in regards to Manual Handling, disposal of sharps and Infection control policies
- To ensure understanding and knowledge of local policy and work in conjunction with permanent staff in the area
- To carry out additional tasks dependent on the clinical environment and local guidelines
- To assist in the cleanliness and tidiness of specific work area and undertake housekeeping tasks as required
- To respect the customs, values and spiritual belief of all patients and to maintain dignity at all times
- Generally promoting our residents’ independence, choice, dignity and respect by delivering the very best standards of care
