Job Overview

Bluestones Medical is currently recruiting experienced and dedicated Scrub Nurses to support theatre teams at Salford Royal Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled theatre practitioners seeking flexible agency work with competitive pay rates and regular shifts.

The successful candidate will work within operating theatre environments, supporting surgical procedures while maintaining the highest standards of patient care, safety, and infection prevention.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare operating theatres and surgical equipment before procedures
• Assist surgeons and theatre teams during operations as a Scrub Nurse
• Maintain sterile techniques and adhere to infection control policies
• Ensure surgical instruments, consumables, and equipment are available and accounted for
• Support patient care before, during, and after surgery
• Accurately document theatre activity and patient records
• Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, ODPs, and wider MDT teams
• Respond effectively in fast-paced and high-pressure theatre environments
• Adhere to NHS policies, clinical governance, and health & safety standards

Requirements

• Valid NMC registration as a Registered Nurse (Adult)
• Previous experience working as a Scrub Nurse within NHS or private hospital theatres
• Strong understanding of theatre procedures and aseptic techniques
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to different clinical settings
• Up-to-date mandatory training certificates preferred
• Right to work in the UK

Desirable Experience

• Orthopaedic, general surgery, trauma, or specialist theatre experience
• Immediate availability for shifts
• Previous agency experience
