Rates: £28-£33 per hour (Limited Company / Sole Trader)
About the Opportunity
We are currently recruiting experienced Practice Nurses to support established GP practices and Primary Care services across Liverpool, Warrington, Chester, Southport and the wider North West.
This is an excellent opportunity for Practice Nurses looking for flexible locum sessions, additional clinical work or ongoing rota availability within supportive and well-organised primary care environments.
You will work alongside experienced multidisciplinary teams, delivering high-quality patient care while supporting GP practices with their ongoing service requirements.
Role Responsibilities
As a Locum Practice Nurse, you will provide a range of primary care nursing services, including:

Managing nurse-led clinics and patient reviews.

Supporting chronic disease management and long-term condition reviews, including diabetes, asthma, COPD and cardiovascular disease.

Delivering NHS Health Checks and preventative healthcare advice.

Undertaking treatment room duties, including wound care, dressings and routine clinical procedures.

Performing venepuncture, ECGs and patient observations.

Providing cervical screening and cytology services.
-
Administering childhood and travel immunisations.
-
Supporting health promotion and patient education.
-
Maintaining accurate clinical records using GP clinical systems.
Requirements
-
Current NMC registration.
-
Previous experience working within Primary Care, GP Practice or a community nursing setting.

Experience managing long-term conditions and delivering nurse-led clinics.

Immunisation and vaccination experience.
-
Ability to work autonomously within a GP practice environment.

Strong communication skills and effective clinical decision-making.
-
Experience using EMIS or SystmOne is desirable.
Desirable Experience
-
V300 Independent Prescribing qualification.
-
Experience supporting patients with diabetes, asthma, COPD or cardiovascular conditions.

Additional Primary Care nursing competencies.
