About the Role

Bluestones Medical is currently recruiting experienced and compassionate Support Workers to join a dedicated care package based in Ellesmere Port.

This is an 8-week placement, offering consistent work and the opportunity to make a positive difference to the life and wellbeing of the individual being supported. Following the completion of this package, additional work and placements may be available through Bluestones Medical, subject to availability and suitability.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality, person-centred care while promoting independence, dignity, choice and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

As a Support Worker, your duties may include:

• Providing person-centred support tailored to the individual’s needs and care plan.
• Supporting individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, dressing and mobility where required.
• Promoting independence, confidence, choice and social inclusion.
• Providing companionship and emotional support.
• Supporting individuals to access the community, attend appointments and take part in activities.
• Assisting with meal preparation and supporting individuals with nutrition and hydration.
• Observing and reporting changes in an individual’s physical, emotional or mental wellbeing.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date care records and completing relevant documentation.
• Following individual care plans, risk assessments and organisational procedures.
• Working closely with families, healthcare professionals and other members of the care team.
• Maintaining confidentiality and respecting the privacy, dignity and rights of the individuals supported.
• Following safeguarding procedures and reporting any concerns appropriately.
• Adhering to all health and safety, infection prevention and control policies.

Essential Requirements

Applicants should have:

• Previous experience working as a Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant, Care Assistant or in a similar care role.
• A caring, reliable, compassionate and professional approach.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a wider care team.
• A strong understanding of person-centred care, dignity, respect and confidentiality.
• The ability to follow care plans and work safely within agreed procedures.
• A satisfactory enhanced DBS check, or willingness to complete one.
• Relevant right-to-work documentation.
• The flexibility to work the required shifts throughout the 8-week placement.

Desirable Requirements

The following would be advantageous:

• Experience supporting individuals with complex care needs.
• Relevant care qualifications, such as the Care Certificate or an NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care.
• Current mandatory training.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, depending on the requirements of the package.

Pay and Benefits
