About the Role
Bluestones Medical Agency is currently seeking experienced and compassionate Midwives to support maternity services at Leighton Hospital on an adhoc / part-time agency basis. This role offers flexibility and is ideal for qualified midwives looking to supplement their current role or achieve a better work-life balance while continuing to deliver exceptional maternity care.
As a Midwife, you will play a vital role in supporting women and families throughout pregnancy, labour, birth, and the postnatal period, ensuring safe and high-quality care in line with NHS standards.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality, woman-centred care throughout pregnancy, labour, and the postnatal period.
Monitor the health and wellbeing of mothers and babies during antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care.
Support and guide women during labour and delivery, ensuring a safe and positive birth experience.
Work collaboratively with obstetricians, neonatal teams, and other healthcare professionals.
Identify and respond appropriately to any complications or changes in a patient’s condition.
Provide education and emotional support to mothers and families.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with hospital and professional standards.
Adhere to infection control, safeguarding, and clinical governance policies.
Requirements
Registered Midwife with a valid NMC registration.
Previous experience working within NHS maternity services.
Strong clinical knowledge across antenatal, labour ward, and postnatal care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Flexibility to work adhoc or part-time agency shifts.
