About the Role

Bluestones Medical Nursing Agency is currently recruiting experienced Registered General Nurses (RGNs) to work across a variety of clinical areas at Royal Stoke University Hospital.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced General Nurses looking for flexible agency work within a major acute hospital environment. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centred nursing care to patients with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective and compassionate nursing care to patients within an acute hospital setting.
• Undertake comprehensive patient assessments and contribute to individualised care planning.
• Monitor patients’ conditions and recognise any changes or signs of clinical deterioration.
• Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with clinical guidelines.
• Carry out clinical procedures within your scope of practice and level of competence.
• Recognise and escalate concerns regarding a patient’s condition appropriately.
• Support patients with a range of medical and surgical conditions.
• Assist with patient admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records and clinical documentation.
• Provide effective clinical handovers to colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
• Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and carers.
• Promote patient dignity, privacy, equality and confidentiality at all times.
• Follow infection prevention and control procedures.
• Comply with Trust policies, procedures and clinical guidelines.
• Ensure all care is delivered in accordance with the NMC Code and professional standards.

Essential Requirements

• Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Recent and relevant experience working within a hospital or acute healthcare setting.
• Experience caring for patients with a variety of medical and/or surgical conditions.
• Strong clinical assessment and nursing skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy and sometimes high-pressure environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to delivering safe, compassionate and patient-centred care.
• Current mandatory training relevant to the role.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Satisfactory compliance and employment checks.
