Urgent Care Practitioner (UCP) – Telephone Triage & Same-Day Support
Locations: Liverpool – Warrington – Chester – Southport Job Type: Locum / Flexible Sessions Setting: Telephone Triage, Out of Hours (OOH) & Urgent Care Services Rates: £35-£40 per hour (Ltd / Sole trader)
About the Opportunity
We’re recruiting experienced Urgent Care Practitioners to support urgent and unscheduled care across a range of clinical settings. If you’re confident handling urgent presentations, conducting remote assessments, and making safe decisions in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.
You’ll be working with services such as telephone triage, same day access, out of hours support, and community urgent care, including escalation and referral support when needed.
Key Responsibilities
You will carry out telephone and remote clinical assessments, provide safe clinical advice and patient management, triage urgent cases appropriately, and escalate high-risk patients when required. You’ll also maintain accurate clinical documentation and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support patient flow.
Requirements
· Current NMC or HCPC registration
· Urgent care and/or triage experience
· Excellent clinical assessment skills
· Ability to work independently in busy services
· Strong communication and decision-making
· EMIS experience is desirable
Ideal Candidate
You’ll ideally have experience within NHS urgent care, OOH, UTC, or telephone triage environments.
