Healthcare Assistant (HCA) – Urgent Treatment Centres

Locations: Dudley | Walsall | Sandwell | Shrewsbury | Telford

Pay Rates

• £14.00 per hour – Weekday Day Shifts
• £16.00 per hour – Evenings, Nights & Weekends

We are recruiting experienced Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to support busy NHS Urgent Treatment Centres across the Midlands and Shropshire. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside multidisciplinary teams delivering high-quality urgent and unscheduled care.

Please note: Due to the nature of these services, only applicants with recent UK experience in Acute, A&E, Urgent Treatment Centres or Primary Care will be considered.

Essential Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of 12 months’ recent UK experience in one or more of the following settings:

• Accident & Emergency (A&E)
• Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC)
• Minor Injuries Unit (MIU)
• Acute Hospital Services
• GP Surgery / Primary Care

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, patient-centred care within a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Record and monitor patient observations, escalating concerns appropriately.
• Support clinicians during patient assessments and treatments.
• Undertake ECGs, venepuncture and other clinical duties within your scope of competence.
• Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to infection prevention and control standards.
• Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary urgent care team.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 12 months’ recent UK experience in Acute, A&E, UTC or Primary Care.
• Valid NHS Smartcard (essential).
• Care Certificate (or equivalent).
• Up-to-date mandatory training.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible approach to working a variety of shifts.
