Healthcare Assistant (HCA) – Urgent Treatment Centre | Dudley

We are currently seeking experienced Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to support an established Urgent Treatment Centre in Dudley on a locum basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for HCAs with urgent care, emergency department, or primary care experience who are looking for flexible locum shifts within a busy and supportive clinical environment.

Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, and other healthcare professionals, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Support registered clinicians with the assessment and treatment of patients
• Undertake and record clinical observations, including:
  • Blood pressure
  • Pulse
  • Temperature
  • Oxygen saturations
  • Respiratory rate
  • NEWS2 observations
• Perform ECGs and phlebotomy (where competent)
• Assist with wound care and simple clinical procedures under supervision
• Prepare and maintain clinical rooms and equipment
• Support patient flow throughout the Urgent Treatment Centre
• Maintain accurate patient records in line with clinical governance requirements
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centred care at all times

Key Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant within:
  • Urgent Treatment Centres (UTC)
  • Emergency Departments
  • Walk-in Centres
  • GP Practices
  • Primary Care or Acute Hospital settings
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) desirable
• Competent in carrying out clinical observations
• Phlebotomy and ECG experience desirable
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Experience using Adastra is desirable
• Enhanced DBS and full compliance documentation required

Rate: £14-£16 per hour
Payment: Ltd Company or Sole Trader or PAYE
Shifts: Flexible day, evening, night, and weekend shifts available
